It was quite a wet couple of days last week, as the surrounding area received a reported 6.31 inches of rain. Several roads in the area, including Stryker Road, were closed due to flooding along the roadway.
Although there were some reported accidents due to the rising waters from area creeks, there were no reported fatalities in the area.
Downtown Corrigan was under as much as 8 inches of water, and 282 Entergy customers lost power on Friday, but were all reconnected by 1:02 p.m. on Sunday, according to a statement from Entergy.
Flash flooding is the leading cause of weather-related deaths in the state, according to TxDOT. As little as six inches of water can float some vehicles. If you encounter a flooded road, turn around, don't drown.
